Dawn, this seems like a case of over-inflated ego to me.  It isn't that the
tongue tie is the problem . It is the fact that someone gave a piece of
information without asking/ bowing down first.

And the mother quit breastfeeding so as not to upset the pediatrician? Ohmy
ohmy ohmy ohmy.

By the way, tongue-tied baby's mom has switched to formula. Says it's
not worth upsetting the pedi. to breastfeed.
