I am working on an orientation for new NICU nurses at our children's
hospital. How long is thawed milk "good" in the refrigerator? I remember
reading somewhere, but can't find the reference, that it is 24 hours AFTER
it is thawed, not 24 hours after it is moved from the freezer to the
refrigerator. Does this sound right? This could be a 6-8 hour difference
with a full 60cc bottle. Does anyone know the reference? I have already
tried the latest edition of HMBANA guidelines for hospitalized infant.
Thanks for all the help.
