Hi all,

I am posting for a LC not on Lactnet.

I saw a mom today w/ PCOS, pp day 4, EBF since discharge, last stool 48 hrs
ago, baby is 11% below birth weight, very fussy x24 hrs, bfdg every hour x24
hrs, latches easily but didn't sustain sucking, pulling and tugging. Mom
pumped 3 cc EBM in 15 min w/ Symphony, no notable breast changes. Mom had
difficulty w/ milk production w/ 1st child (before PCOS dx). Mom is L&D
nurse and knowledgeable about bfdg, and VERY motivated to succeed this time.
Also knows that her PCOS may impact milk production.

We are going to start reglan/pumping, keep bfdg, supplement w/ formula,
return in 3 days for weight check and reassess if any breast changes or milk
increase.

Is there anything new anyone has tried or done to increase milk production?
Her midwife asked about trying progesterone (mini pill) to see if it would
decrease her estrogen and thus help milk increase.
