I was very interested to read the two different NICU approaches to feeding
premies. The nursery at the hospital here definitely takes the first
approach, and we wanted to take the second when my grandson was born, and it
was not easily achieved! (But we did do it, and Sebastian now weighs over
seven pounds, continues to be exclusively breastfed and has never had a
pacifier or bottle.)

I would love to see some research comparing the two approaches and the
long-term outcomes in terms of breastfeeding duration.
