Hooray! the local WABC affiliate had a news item about the dangers of
water supplementation of newborns. They included shots of mothers
breastfeeding as normal and as natural as you please. No big deal, no
fanfare, just mothers breastfeeding!!!
BTW this was a very important newsflash for folks out there-water is
absolutely not recommended for newborns, they warned against the dangers
of overdiluting formula in the attempt to make it last longer in addition
to just supplementing with water to stretch out feeding intervals. The
doc they interviewed said to feed the baby on demand. This included the
formula fed baby.
It's about time, right, guys?
