<I have a question regarding breast pain that begins approximately 10-15
minutes after a nursing...........
........Could there be an abscess deep into the breast where you are unable
to really palpate?>
Jean,
it sounds like candida to me.
an abscess would be painful at other times as well, but occasionally I have
ordered a diagnostic ultrasound of the breast just to be really sure there
is no abscess.

MBBS, MMed, IBCLC in Melbourne, Australia - I can't believe that 3 women I
saw today (all with breast thrush) had earlier had mastitis treated with
erythromycin - this is NOT a good antibiotic for mastitis (lots of
side-effects for mother and baby, and sometimes staph is resistant to
it.....)
