hello all--
All of the standard lactation references say that the risk of transmission
of Hepatitis c via breastmilk is extremely low to nil; i.e, that the rates
of mother-to-baby transmission are the same for breastfed and for
non-breastfed infants. I had one of our pediatricians ask me about this
recently, and he said his info corroborates with mine, but that he has heard
another LC say that she went to a recent conference and heard that this is
being revisited, and that recommendations may change in the near future.
Does anyone have access to more info on this? Please reply to me personally
as well as posting to the list.
Thanks from
