Hi Valerie,
I am so sorry you are feeling shut out. I feel that your viewpoint, and all the thoughtful research which informs it, is an important asset to the breastfeeding community. It would be a big loss to all of us, if this door remains closed. I think a dialogue among differing opinions helps us learn. I believe the opportunity to debate these issues in what should be a safe and supportive forum hones us for the inevitable challenges we face when we take a bill to our state legislature (which I have done, 3 times, now) -- or when we approach our hospital management about a policy change that will help more moms succeed with breastfeeding.

So if you need to take time and reflect, I understand, but please don't stay away long.
Best wishes from
Martha Johnson RN IBCLC

Subject: lactnet lurking

Does anyone know the directions to lactnet lurking? Lurking lot A? or
lurking lot B? I seem to be driven there not by my own volition but by the current
tides of opinion.

What this represents to me is another door in the breastfeeding community
slammed shut. And I cannot let this pass without a comment. This decision is a
method in silencing not just me but others who have differing opinions.
Valerie W. McClain, breastfeeding advocate
