PTP....received a call on the breastfeeding helpline from a first time mom who has been exclusively pumping for 9 months. She states in the past 1-2 months, she has noticed her nipples have become purple, the color of bruising but they are not tender. They do not change color as in Raynauds. She has changed flange sizes, lowered the suction with no change. There is nothing that she has done differently in the last few months. She describes the nipples as unsightly and is concerned they will remain this way.
Has anyone had any experience with this occurring? I didn’t know what to tell her.

Thanks in advance.

Sue
