If the child took no solids until two, perhaps there is an underlying
problem that both made him unable to take solids and to talk.  Speech is an
overlay function of feeding.  If he could not feed normally (no solids until
two is not normal) then it would make sense that he will probably not speak
normally.  I do believer Wold & Glass may address this issue but I do not
have my copy with me at present.

 She has a client whose child nursed
 exclusively (no solids were given)until age 2. He is
 now 3 and experiencing speech delays. Family
 members accuse mom of "causing" the problem due
 to the extended nursing.
