When I began follow up calls from the hospital in 1986 there were no
objections.  Hospitals use this technique frequently for all sorts of
situations, same day surgery, to check on moms & new babies. It's good PR
and good medicine!

I can't believe your facility is refusing follow up calls, especially in
light of what we know about how critical the first week of BF is in terms of
baby's thriving or dehydrating and how so many moms don't get vss nurse or
see dr in first few days!

The US system of follow up post birth is poor at best, dangerous at worse.
By not doing follow up calls they are contributing to the poor care mothers
receive post birth in US.  Now that's a legal liability!  Sincerely, Pat in
