Just a quick question here:
Is it "safe" to take prednisone and asacol while pregnant, and then later
while breastfeeding? A woman who has severe colitis asked me this recently.
Her colitis became quite severe while pregnant with her first child, and the
child is now 1 year old. She in considering another pregnancy, but is
hesitant. One OB said these drugs would be safe to take during pregnancy, but
not while breastfeeding. Can anyone give me info on this? (I have encouraged
her to continue her search for info, but I am curious, too.) Thanks very
much.
