Fellow Lactnetters and Anne Eglash, in particular: Last May there were
several postings regarding thyroid disease, thyroid storm, etc in
post-partum women.  No mention was made about medical interventions,
safety of medications during diagnosis and treatment. A local
endocrinologist is recommending weaning to a mother with a fully BFing 4
month old for diagnostic procedures (which will utilize radioactive
materials) and treatment (medication unknown at this time). I have
revieved Lawrence and Briggs for current information.  Would appreciate
comments from those who have had experience dealing with breastfeeding
and hyperthyroidism. Thanks in advance!
