Digest 1335 was one of the most rewarding and insightful that I've seen in a
long time, sharing nuggets of wisdom and fellowship. While it is sometimes
preferable to say things in private, Lactnet has become a way of sharing
both knowledge and feelings. It's nice to know we can agree to disagree. I truly
enjoyed Nikki Simmons post - what a wonderful way to parallel the acquistion
of skills and knowledge in one profession to another. What was very clear to
me is that talent and knowledge are just as important as desire, passion and
dedication. Debra, great explanation of the nipple confusion vs. preference
with excellent analogies. Gonneke, thank you for furthering our
understanding of cultural differences regarding student status. And Valerie, I do
respect you a great deal. You were kidding and I stand corrected.

Yes, sometimes it is more polite to keep these discussions personal but if a
statement has been made in a public forum, perhaps it imay be appropriate to
share rebuttal or converse opinions in that same forum. Some do agree on
this -- that to maintain silence is to appear to endorse or accept. And BTW, I
did ask the opinion of one of the listmothers before posting.
I apologize if it appeared offensive or challenging it was not meant that
way at all. Those who know me personally know that I always try to play nicely
with others;-)
