it has been my experience that cabbage does not decrease milk supply just the
swelling (fluid overload between cells) that in turn makes it hard for the
milk in the engorged breast to get out -- i have seen it bring the worst case
of engorgement i had ever seen down in less than 3 hours -- from no milk
transfer not even drips -- and totally flat nipples to leaking everywhere
with a now compressible nipple in just under 3 hours

-- this was a doctors wife (too bad not a pedi or ob on my side of town -- oh
well)-- she could not even lower her arms -- the change was so dramatic that
they drove back across town -- to thank me in tears & to help the babe latch
on for the first time in almost 48 hours. At the last note i received the
baby was still nursing at 23 months. Score one for old fashioned wisdom at
the right time.
