Hi again.....
Can you tell I am housebound today?
I had to reply to the children and meds thread.....Laurie, my now 10 year old,
used to eat about anything. When she was almost 3, she ate her sister's
flouride tablets. Almost 100 of them. She let me know when she was about to
vomit them up. We both spent the night in the ICU, Laurie on the heart
monitor because flouride binds with calcium, calcium regulates heart rhythm.
Children's flouride tablets in the US are fruit-flavored, and very tiny. If
the child likes them, they don't get much of a treat just eating one each day.
If you have go-getter children like mine, they'll find a way to get what they
like. At the time Laurie got into them, I kept the flouride tablets on top of
the refridgerator. I don't even have them in the house any more.
Margie, housebound on this beautiful day!
