Hi Netters,

Just pulled up the Compleat Mother, #10, Winter 1995 from the files. "Four
New Zealand scientists say a baby drinking soya milk would consume 100 times
the amount of natural oestrogen that a breastfed child receives, equivalent
to several contraceptive pills a day. It is well established that soybean
products contain phytoestrogens daidzein and genistein." "Soy formulas
,which account for about 25% of all the formula fed infants in the US, may
not meet infants needs for zinc because the protein in the formula binds to
the zinc, so it cannot be used by the infant" "Soy may bind calcium too, but
there's so much calcium in soy formula that plenty remains available for the
baby to absorb." Now if I can only computerize and file (and maybe even read
in my spare time) all of the last 6 month articles sitting on my desk, I
would be in good shape.
