Personally, I experienced nausea with let down. I do not hear this a lot from other moms I know or work with through LLL. I think this subsided as my children got older. When my milk supply was not as plentiful, say after 12-18 months. I also no longer had such strong of a let down (that I felt) once my kids were older and nursing less often  Let- down for me was  painful as well, not intolerable but VERY strong pins and needles
When my kids were newborns, I knew if my milk was going to let down "spontaneously" (ie: not while nursing, say in the grocery store), because I would feel sick to my stomach first.
Between my four children I nursed a total of  about 6-7 years and this did not last the whole time I was nursing.
Incidentally, I had very little nausea during pregnancy, even in the first three months.
I don't really have any thoughts of how to help, maybe if she is eating right before nursing/pumping she should wait until after or just have a few crackers or something. While this was definetely something I noticed, I did not find it to be terribly uncomfortable or difficult to handle.
