Hi!

Thanks for all the feedback so far. Just wanted to clarify and answer some
of your questions re: case hx. The stools are definately of a normal color
and consistency for a breastfed infant; not greenish, no mucous or blood;
just small and extremely frequent. Mom is diapering with disposables but is
not using commercial baby wipes-only warm water soaked cotton balls ever so
gently. With every diaper change she allows baby's bottom to air dry and
then applies Aquaphor. This seems to be working well but thank you for the
lanolin suggestion- I'll pass it on! Mom is taking no meds ie; stool
softeners, and baby is not taking any vits, teas or juices. Moms elimination
of dairy and caffeine was definately not of a 2 week duration...nor has she
eliminated any chocolate, spices, citrus fruits, fruits with a laxative
effect, or gassy veggies. I will mention it to her. As far as the issue of
the baby possibly getting too much foremilk, Mom reports breasts are very
well drained at each feed and EBM at end of feed is very rich and
creamy-definatly different from milk at start of feed. Not to mention that
baby is thriving beautifully-wouldn't an excess of foremilk result in a less
than desirable weight gain? Please advise.

Thanks!!
