When my preemie was learning to "nipple feed'', the nurses used to make
me sit and try to make her take a bottle of my breastmilk. The whole
ordeal drove me to tears and is a whole story of it's own but it was
along time ago. Anyway one day a nurse was thawing out a package of my
breastmilk and commented on how it sure looked different than formula. I
said it sure tasted different too. She said "Oh? " I said hadn't she
ever tried it? From the horrified shocked look on her face, I realized
that she thought I was suggesting she take a swig out of whopper's milk
she was handling!! I said "No I mean didn't you ever taste it when you
nursed your own babies?"
Well no she hadn't nursed them at all.

So she wasn't only disgusted at tasting breastmilk, she didn't
understand why nursing was important to me.
