I put these two topics together because my source is the same: Kittie Frantz

Kittie has said repeatedly over the years that the study that showed that the
baby got all the milk in 10 minutes was because the study was set up so that
they ended each feeding session after the first MER. As we all know babies
can and do stimulate more than 1 MER per feed if they so wish. My
understanding is that MER's occur about every 7-10 mins, ( I've seen this
vary with diff mom/babe pairs). Anyway, Kittie has also said that she has
info from an unpublished study (at least, last time I heard this from her)
that shows definitively more than 1 MER. (BTW, I bought Klaus & Kennell's
newest Bonding book, after being thrilled with his ILCA talks, and they quote
this same old stuff about baby getting all they need in 10 mins in their
feeding chapter :-( ! Was saddened by this info being in print in a new
book.) I would think that we have other sources to contradict this, but
don't have time to search at the moment. Anyone have quick access to Kittie,
I would think she would know this off the top . . .

Also, Kittie uses growth charts without ABM Co.s on them. She has said that
she will make them available to folks, she can be reached through the
Sunland, CA address to order her other BF teaching products. Will post that
address tomorrow.
