Oh how true Kathleen!  So many practices are based on a "physician's
belief". Just yesterday I had a discussion with a Fam. Practice doc who said
that SOME people (me) believe that nipple confusion exists, but he does
not....a baby will either breastfeed or he won't.   I told him he is right
that nipple confusiond does not exist....for SOME children and it does for
others,trouble is, we aren't sure which child we are dealing with so we need
to be cautious with all of them.  I  further added that ALLERGIES do not
exist for all children and cause death in others....so it is not something
that we say we believe does not exist.  I was able to score one there.  It
made him stop to think.
