I would try to find something online or if you have any refs regarding the
treatment of mastitis. I think 3 days is not a proper course of treatment. I
don't have the exact treatment regimen here at home, but if you can find it,
maybe in Hale, share with the doctor. If you can also find something re
tongue tie and contribution to blocked ducts and mastitis, maybe the tongue
tie can be released. Ultrasound can show if there is an abscess, I know of
no connection between ultrasound and infection spreading. I do know that it
does not always pick up the abscess. I do think this mother does need
further evaluation and treatment. From personal experience with breast
abscess, if that is what she has, the body can try to "hide it" or wall it
off, but symptoms generally return and until drained, and adequate
antibiotics it might not resolve.
