Theresa writes:

<I would make sure that when she gives the oral Nystatin to Chloe that
she is
swabbing the patches not just squirting it in the back of the baby's
mouth.
In fact, make sure she is not using the dropper other than to measure the
medication and put it into a cup in which she can dip the swab and have
the
baby drink from.

Even if you've told her this already, it doesn't hurt to remind her.>

Another point to consider. Mothers in our area tell us that the
prescription directions are printed for four times a day. This medication
is also prescribed for adults and so presuming a
three-meal-and-a-snack-a-day eating pattern, for adults, this seems
reasonable.

However, we tell the mothers to use a smaller dose but administer as
Theresa suggests above, after each and every feeding round the clock. Our
reasoning is that there is longer total exposure in a 24 hour day, given
that the baby is "washing it down" much oftener than an adult.
