you asked about some information to can pass along to the mom. In  addition 
to the research you already found, google 'breastfeeding a baby with  egg 
allergy'... here's one example of something I might choose from the  results, 
it echoes the total elimination advice which Jen Tow  rightfully advocated 
for, and it is from CHOP so it's a good option  for sending along to the doc 
also

as of recently the author still works at CHOP so you could call the  
hospital and/or lactation office to get in touch with her for the bib.
