Yup, Carole, I agree.  Haven't we all seen the 38-39 weeker who acts like
he's(sorry, but it's usually a boy) more like a 35-36 weeker, despite the
fact it's an IVF baby and we "know" the gestational age????  When I talk with
parents about these babies and they are wondering why they are not
"performing" up to par, I tell them there's a reason for a due date, that
that is when the baby is ready to be born, that that's when they're "cooked"
and "ready to come out of the oven".  And also that some babies do fine
coming a little early, and some do not.  And that it has no bearing on
whether he gets into Harvard or not........
