I know we've talked at length about Vit K and newborns and we are all
entitled to an opinion as to its necessity. However I didn't see in the
archives where it can be administered to the mother for the newborn.

A colleague brought to my attention the pharmaceutical information sheet
which states that administration to the mother within 12 hours(I think) but
not later than 2 hours before delivery will give a prophylactic dose to the
infant. It doesn't go on to give levels or duration or effectiveness or
research to support its efficacy. Does anyone know anything about this?

supposed to be.
