Our policy is:
(And I do not have the rationale behind it available to me, nor did I assist
in it's development so I don't know what the discussion was behind it)

If the feeding is breastmilk - hang time for EVERYTHING - tubing, syringe -
must be discarded after 4 hours for continuous feeds, and every three hours
for intermittant feeds (we feed intermittants Q3).

I THINK (not actually sure) If the feeding is formula then the tubing can be
used for up to 8 hours but the formula can only hang for 4 and that means
the syringe will be changed at 4 hours too. If the feeding is intermittant,
(Q3) then the syringe and formula are replaces Q 3, but the tubing can be
reused once and changed only Q6 hours.

:) seems to me it might ought to be the other way around seeing as how
breastmilk is more antibacterial than formula
