Good point, Gonneke. I also have a comment to make about this issue, and it actually came straight from my daughter's mouth when she had her first baby. When she told the nurse she didn't want her baby bathed, the nurse told her they wouldn't be able to touch the baby without be gloved. My daughter said, "That's OK. I don't really want any of you touching my baby without gloves on anyway, bath or no bath."

I don't know where that girl gets her sassiness. ;-)

Why trying to prove the normal, better prove that the intervention is save and benefitial. For the newborn child, that is.

Jan, I have heard that once the baby is dry they are no longer a risk to the
staff. Now, I do not have this in writing but I sure would like it. The
premises sure makes sense.
Can anyone else add any literature or research to back either premises?
