Yes, my second son experienced this. The OT said he had
torticollis, though the doctor changed the diagnosis
slightly. He was also hard to figure out---nursed no more
than 5 min. at a time every 3 hours for many months, despite
my best efforts to get him to nurse more and longer. Our DO
did osteopathic manipulation on him and some cranio-sacral
therapy. I recall one visit where his suck was so weak that
I was at my wits' end. Immediately after the therapy, I put
him to the breast and felt those wonderful deep sucks for
the first time in many weeks. (Incase you're wondering how
this little guy made it, I had a raging case of oversupply
for a long time and he had to do very little for the milk to
gush, which was a blessing and a curse at the same time).

The OMT and CST definitely helped; I could feel it in his
sucking. I wish I could say it solved everything, but he
also had strange growth patterns, which began early in
infancy. At nearly 6 years old,he weighs 31 pounds and is
closely watched by the doctor.

Amy
