As unfond of the curriculum as I am, I feel compelled to state that I do
not remember reading or hearing anything about using spoons, belts, etc.
on children. They do include a chart on how many swats for what age and a
discussion of when and how to spank, but nothing about the above objects.
If someone can cite the references, I would be most interested in what I
missed; otherwise, though, we should probably be careful, as this info
may be more a product of the "telephone game" than anything else.
