Someone on Lactnet previously wrote about Doren Fredrickson's study, reported
in a chapter in Breastfeeding: Biocultural Perspectives (McKenna and
Bernshaw?) .  I think the post reported that the study found a 50% decrease
in the risk of SIDS for every month of exclusive breastfeeding.

You may want to check the chapter and search the archives for more complete
info.
