Hi Jan,
I don't know if I can quickly put my hands on them, but I have seen (and may
have copied) some articles which look at the phenomenon of thermal elevation
in the ventral area during feeding.  There was some research about this in
rats, and it has been observed in humans.  I'm writing this at home, and all
my books and papers are at the office, but you might want to quickly peruse
Lawrence to see if she briefly mentions this and gives a ref.  I'll try to
look thru stuff at the office when I go in.  The ref. words if you do a
search would be ventral thermal elevations.
