Dear Sandy and Jan, As Jan so aptly put the cause of the eczema could be
anything, but whether or not the Mom exhibits it is largely irrelevant as it
isn't communicable.
I have a neighbor who mentioned to me on our "walk" a few months ago that she
was having trouble weaning her than 1 yr. old from breast feeding as every
time she got him down to 1time per day at breast or less, his eczema flared
up badly- talk about "dose response"! My efforts to encourage her to nurse
longer were fruitless however as she has "successfully" weaned him now at
15-16 mths and the eczema has abated somewhat. Pressures from her family were
too great!
