its always helpful to check the archives to find an answer about a question
often asked. milk banks needing donations will pay for the shipping of milk
from a distant donor. testing can easily be done at the mother's location.

and why is it that no one ever just calls up a milk bank to ask this sort of
question? i see these questions on lactnet often, and i want to tell you that
the people who run the milk banks are kind, polite, courteous, helpful,
idiscreet, they've heard it all before, in short, all the attributes of
mother teresa and eagle scouts all rolled into one - why doesn't anyone just
pick up the phone and call them? call collect! questions easily answered by
trained professional staff! call here, they will refer you as needed!

i often wonder just how much milk is thrown away because someone is hesitant
to even ask the question . . . .

there is no such thing as too much milk, its just in the wrong location
(except when you are the mom who is suffering from oversupply)
