I also received this pump, and took it to a gathering of friends over the
weekend - all of whom are working mothers with at least 1 year of full-
time working and pumping experience. The universal comment was "nice
bag!". This in itself will get a lot of sales for this pump, so I expect
we'll see it around more. I had 5 women try it (just one pump n' dump
session each) and their comments were pretty uniform - they found it loud,
but very comfortable, and got an average amount of milk using it (compared
to either a Medela or Ameda). 2 of the moms had larger nipples and had
used larger flanges with their PNS, but found the Playtex to be
comfortable with the flanges it comes with. The design of the closed
system means more parts to wash, and while some moms were sure their
nipples would hit the backs of the shorter tunnels, none did. The soft
flange lining pieces do squish around a bit, and when I got them wet to
stop the squishing, they leaked a bit (guess that solution only works for
the Avent Isis). I'll be interested to see how it holds up to a year's
full-time use, and hope they can address the noise issue - it's just too
loud as is, but my group of extremely short-term testers thought it was
pretty comparable to the Medela PNS and the Ameda PY. I agree with
Catherine W-G that it probably says single user because it's not designed
to last more than a year. Does the Ameda PY say the same thing? It's a
similarly closed system.
