I received a summons for jury duty when my son was just a few weeks old. I
had no problem being excused for this reason.  All the judge wanted was a
letter stating my reason for their files.  I too would be interested if
anyone has had trouble with this and has a written statement that worked for
them.  I was disappointed that I could not serve and had entertained the idea
of asking permission to bring my very quiet nursing baby with me!!!   My
husband who is a lawyer felt this probably would not go over too well!
probably would have made the news though!!
