Here's the status as of now, as written by a good friend of theirs:

"Alexandra had the last day of the 1028 hearing (pre-trial "fact finding")
on Friday and the judge ruled that Andrei would not be paroled to her
before the trial, which is currently scheduled for January/February.
Alexandra and Raphael are understandably distraught, as am I... It just
doesn't make sense to me -- the law guardian, "Andrei's lawyer," even
brought in her own doctor, who said that the FTT diagnosis should not have
been made after someone only saw him once, and that he would not have
concurred based on the medical records. But it seems the judge made up her
mind that homebirth, breastfeeding, a vegan diet, and not having "regular"
visits to a pediatrician is somehow synonymous with putting a child
in "imminent danger." She apparently thought seven days after a birth was
too long to have waited to see a doctor -- despite the fact that when he
did see Andrei, everything checked out."

So, Mom received enough money in donations to take baby to the "good"
doctor. Her thanks to all who donated through my webpage! Sounds like there
is a much greater fight to be fought -- almost seems insurmountable!
