In a recent discussion of nipple healing, lanolin was mentioned quite a few times. Why is lanolin suggested so often? If someone had a wound anywhere other than the nipple, we would not suggest lanolin. Does it have a healing property that I don't recognize or is it more like chapstick and just keeps in the moisture?

Thanks -
Kristi
