Cassidy says,

<<To clarify, the baby is being supplemented based on the length of his
feed. So,
15 minute feed would equal x supplementation, 10 minute feed would equal
y. 20
minutes is the 'magic number', if you will, and does not require
supplementation.>>

What "evidence" shows that number of minutes at a breast = a certain
number of mL taken at that breast....each and every time? Have the nurses
established and taught the mother to determine when the baby is actually
*breastfeeding* and when the baby is just *hanging out*? Is she allowed to
subtract the total number of seconds/minutes the baby pauses during the feed,
because of course, he isn't actually breastFEEDING during those pauses. What
if he only breastfeeds for 10 minutes but takes the appropriate volume?
How do they know what the caloric value of the milk is? If it is 20
kcal/ounce and he needs to take 30 mL, then what if her milk happens to average out
a 23 kcal/ounce? Can he then take a lesser amount and still be considered
to have taken an adequate amount? Or don't calories count?

Obviously, Cassidy, I'm not expecting you to answer any of these
questions. It's just another post to show how ludicrous this policy is.

This sort of thing really really really frustrates me.....
