I have a 35 y.o. first time mother who is being told her joint pain and loss of
circulation in extremities could be tied to breastfeeding, and she is being told to
pump and dump for six days while on Medrol in decreasing dose from 24 mg
on first day to 4 mg on sixth day, to be followed by prednisone afterwards.
First question: is pump and dump necessary with Medrol?

She gave birth one month premature, c-sect following hypertension, mother
lost ³lot² of blood, took iron for six weeks. A lot of swelling during preg,
subsided two weeks following birth, and then mother started noticing joint pain
in hands and feet, progressing to loss of circulation in fingers and toes several
times a day. Tested neg for rhumotoid arthritis, test for Lupus not back yet.

MD suggests this may be caused by hormones relating to breastfeeding,
suggests weaning. COULD this motherıs condition be related to *breastfeeding
hormones* specifically????
