Ashley Montague said that.  He said human infants are only born at nine
mos because they do not fit for another nine mos.  They really need to
be attached to the Mom for 18 mos.  I don't know right off hand where he
might have written that, but he did say that to me, personally, in
Eugene, Oregon in the Spring of 1978.  I was Pg at the time, and
planning for my 3rd C/Secton.

I would love to see more of his wisdom out there!
