Linda,

I believe that there is a time for celebration.  I believe that there are
many breastfeeding advocates who have worked long hours for many years who need
to be given the praise and the thanks that is due them for all their hard work.


I am aware of the national media campaigns but haven't seen them yet.  I am
pleased that the government has websites on breastfeeding.  But I am not sure
that I can agree with you that the breastfeeding scene is far better than ever
before.  I believe that would be a very debatable question among many people
on this list.

There is a time to mourn.  I think this is a time to grieve for the innocents
who have died or are damaged by the loss of our breastfeeding cultures, a
time to realize that we are not at the end of the road in advocacy but only
half-way.  This does not take away from those who have served so long and hard.  It
only reminds us of how much more that needs to be done.
