 I believe that solids between 6 & 12 mo are more for learning and play than nutrition. As they become better at eating solid food their need for nursing will slow, less time at the breast or less times at the breast.  If they are full most babies keep their mouth shut and turn their head away from whoever wants to shove more in.  Watch baby cues. Let baby learn to feed him/her self.  Pat in SNJ
