To support the work in Nova Scotia related to breastfeeding and the Baby
Friendly Initiative, the Provincial Breastfeeding and BFI committee saw
value in developing a Family Friendly Pledge to contribute to consistent
messaging to families and staff across the province.

The purpose of the Family Friendly Pledge is to remind families, staff, and
administrators of our commitment to strive for best practices and excellence
in maternal/child health through the BFI. Hospitals, public health offices,
physicians offices, family resource centres, and other community sites will
be encouraged to post the Family Friendly Pledge poster to demonstrate their
movement toward the BFI. The posters reflect the 10 Steps and 7 Points and
include photos of Nova Scotian women.
