Zoe,
There is a literature on the cost benefits of continuing to
breastfeed in the work place, same benefits for students. Workers/
students miss fewer days to care for sick kids, workers tend to be
more loyal to workplaces that accommodate their needs. I imagine that
students would respond similarly. This may manifest in more students
completing their studies when they don't feel they have to choose
between caring for/nursing their babies and continuing their studies.
I haven't seen any studies to that effect. Perhaps it's something you
can look into at your college.. Such a piece of research wouldn't be
too hard to set up and would make a nice contribution to the literature.
