Dear Friends:

Who better to know when those intestines are ready for something else than
the owner of said intestines?

The babies that don't want solids until they are 9 or 12 months old are
doing so for a reason. The babies that demand solids at 4 or 5 months are doing
so as a sign of readiness. There is no absolute, identified time that anything
must happen.

Like walking: some babies start at 8 months and others at 15. And everybody
will be walking by the age of 18-24 months. Why shouldn't starting solids be
any different?
Readiness comes from within.

warmly,

To reach optimal health benefits from breastfeeding, I would really like to
try and ensure that baby's (physical) intestines are up to more nutritional
challenges,
