>I never use any kind of breastmodel (be it cloth, balloon or
whatever, for teaching handexpression, deep compression and anything
that is teachable on brests. I always use my own. Sometimes people do
look a bit strange and even horrified when they see me doing that. Are
Ellen and me the only ones doing so, or are more of you using their
own body for teaching purposes?<

I usually find myself reaching for my own breasts first :)
Moms usually laugh when I tell them I am fishing in my bag for my fake
breasts. I have three, all home-made, to show flat, inverted and
everted nipples. They can be useful to demonstrate latch - the *up and
over* motion to *hook* the baby on.
In the days when I was still nursing I sometimes demonstrated how to
express milk (choosing my audiences wisely!) but alas, I am now
milkless.

On a related note, I bought my grandson a baby doll (20" long,
weighted like a real baby, LaBaby brand,) that I like so much that I
am going to get a couple more for demos. They really do FEEL like a
baby, much more so than my daughter's old Cabbage Patch dolls I have
used over the years. grandson Zach was not quite as impressed though.
When he asked his mama to put a diaper on his doll, he noticed that it
had no penis and he was rather distressed. At 28 months he is very
protective of his new baby brother, announcing very loudly to anyone
who wants to hold the baby that this is HIS brother and MAMA'S BABY!
The best part is that DIL Eliz had a VBAC without any meds! YEAH! And
yes, she is tandem nursing, not bad for a BFAR mother, huh?

norma, proud grandma
No financial interest in any doll company
