Its great to take nursing babies with you but for mothers who can't/won't we
need to be a bit more flexible with our advice. Sometimes it as impracticle
to "pumjp everytime she usually nurses" as it is to take the infant. Mom to
be advised to pump as much as possible and to plan to spend alot of time
with the infant on here return. The system is wonderful at catching back up
again!! I once left my 15 month old for a week, thinking I was weaning him
at that time and NOT pumping. When I returned he went back to the breast on
his own for another month (then self weaned) (this was my third kid which
probably helped - I don't think no pumping is good advice but this story is
to illustrate how flexible the system is)
