Diana write:
"My understanding is that no teas, including Mother's Milk tea, contain
sufficient amounts of the galactagenic herbs to effect an increase in
lactation. To my knowledge, we have no efficacy studies of galactagogues
in tea form, but the very nature of tea is such that relatively small
amounts of base ingredients are conveyed. Most of the ingredients remain"

Actually, Diana, an infusion is the very best way to take the kind of herbs we are talking about. The problem is that commercial teas do not contain enough of the herbs and most mothers who make their own tea are not using enough either. Locally, we have an herbalist who makes tea bags for our clients that are therapeutic in quality. OTOH, what the mother is willing to take is also important. I usually find that mothers will be more likely to take the tincture than the tea. I never recommend the capsules, however--they just aren't the best vehicle for this type of herb. Most of my clients who use a glactogogue take More Milk Plus and have excellent results (I have no financial interest in this company).
